We reached out to Vice right away and instantly there was a click and so we decided to do something together. Vice is the brainchild behind Birmingham (Uk) based 7 piece Hip Hop / Soul / Funk band Genius Collective, the creator of Basement Sessions (now on hiatus), and an established producer in his own right. With a myriad of Genius Collective music set to hit the musical waves throughout 2012, Vice offers up a mix to get you ready for the summer time, with a mix of dusty breaks, chilled electronic vibes, acoustic tones and all round good Hip Hop vibes truly representing the Worlwide culture, with music from artists representing the UK, Holland, Spain, US, Japan and many more. The artwork is done by Commonlight from the UK, and is designed in such a way that you can choose to have the Dutch or UK side up.

For those not familair with Genius Collective yet, GC is a seven piece Hip Hop/Soul/Funk band based in Birmingham UK. With the band consisting of a fusion of Hip Hop heads, to classically trained Jazz musicians, their style blends honest, feel good lyrics with funk rhythms to get your head nodding, your mind thinking and your feet moving. Inspired by Bonobo, The Roots, The Bamboos and TY to name a few, Genius Collective aim to hit the scene soulfully with their distinctive sound.
The Super Nice Music fam is proud to be a part of the first beat tape edition presented by Frisco Store. Based in the Netherlands, Frisco Store proudly presents their newest collection. The Soldiers, Streets, Rebels Collection is based around a nocturnal theme. Inspired by Yoan Taillandier’s Minuit they ride the city like soldiers in the streets, rebels. Brought back to a grimey black & white color pallette this collection consists of hoodies, shirts & a variety of hats. On top of that they reworked a Carhartt Chore coat and got together for the second time with Ebbets Field Flannels to do a 1945 Melton Wool Fingertip Jacket & an all black wool F Ballcap with a mint crown.

For this occassion they worked with Amsterdam based director Patrick Louwerse on the collection clip and producer Dean High made a soundtrack inspired on the Soldiers, Street Rebels theme to accompany the clip seen at the bottom of this post. For this collection they invited 11 producers such as Super Nice Music’s very own Dave Redi, producers Jeejaa, Dean High, Koen, MasterRo, Nangdo, SirOJ, Jameszoo, Ramiks, Cirino Brown and Ability to pump out some beat heat for the rebels in the streets. The soundtrack to this collection is available now on their Bandcamp page friscostore.bandcamp.com.

Honest, hard working and with a lotta backbone. This son of a soldier has been working hard over the last year to finish up his official debut album, “Love, Life, Trials and Tribulations”. John grew up travelling around the globe and can be called a citizen of the world, and is sharing his wisdoms of life and love on this album. Love, Life.. became an album in the truest sense of the word, lyrics with topics grabbed straight out of life, a fantastic and coherent musical backdrop, and enjoyable from beginning to end. The productions come from producers extra ordinaire Jeejaa, of whom we can never get enough at Super Nice, and Phonc, who is known from John’s previously released EP Who Is… John Frost? Featurings come from the talented Cedric Salah, the Front Porch Poets, HP, Sel and MadEye. It creates a Basketcase. Producer Lemonface from Amsterdam creates a funky soundtrack for the slightly screwed up in the head Ralph Rip Shit to go lyrically bananas on.
